Last year, I received a very nice invitation from Jim Thalassoudis, a well known Australian artist who also runs two art blogs: The Painted Sky and In The Real Art World, asking me to be part of a group show " More Real Than Real: Realist Painters from USA and Canada", This exhibition presented in conjunction with Cube Contemporary Art Projects (curated by Jim Thalassoudis) during the Adelaide Festival of Arts, will run from March 1, to March 17, 2012 at Peter Walker Fine Art . In a way, the title of this painting refers directly to the exhibition, therefore, making a post with it only a couple of days before Xmas (Three Kings) may extend the meaning of its hidden story in a pretty poetic way...

Have a beautiful week everyone,
thanks for your visit!

Whaouuu!

This is fantastic! Both the news and the painting. Congratulations Pierre. I can't stop looking at these beautiful teacups and all of the glorious colours I see in the patterns and reflections. You will win many more admirers when they see your work in this show.

Your last five paintings are truly nothing short from genius. You approach each piece with a such an original direction from conventional still life. Nobody else paints like that. The colors just grab your attention and of course the lighting sets the tone. Congratulations on your group show in Australia...you must realize how happy I am for you! It's so richly deserve.....there will be some jaw dropping down under! Joyeux Noël Pierre!

Thank you Nicki for such heartfelt words of encouragement, which I always appreciate. Have a wonderful last week before Xmas, probably in the snow (lucky west canadian!), here we still pray for our first white blanket that will stay on the ground!

Alvin, how generous... Thanks for your sincere support, it means a lot.
When I started this blog a couple of years ago and made the decision to paint full time, I didn't have any clue of the direction my works were going to take. In fact, the still life exploration came up unexpectedly as a natural response to my sensibility, an infinite playground of shapes, materials, colors and hidden stories...
Have a beautiful week before holidays!

Pierre...Your work is absolutely amazing. I marvel at how you capture such realism and your handling of light is inspiring.

Thank you Lokelani for your generous words. Playing with light captivates me like a child. For each composition, I may sometimes take more than fifty pictures with different lightings. There's so much I need to learn about it.
Have a wonderful week!

I saw this painting on facebook, I think...absolutely loved it but didn’t remember who it was by. So happy to have found it again. It is one of my favourites - I love, love the realism and rich colours. Happy to have found your blog so I can have a regular dose of gorgeousness.
