Bon weekend! -Pierre
So interesting how the background horizontals, with their softened focus and color shifts, feel almost like something whizzing by in fast motion--like cars perhaps--seen only as blurs. The cups show motion of a different kind: the possibility of movement/collapse implied by the precarious stacking, and the echo of arrested motion in the decorative birds.
Thanks Don for your visit, always a pleasure. I wanted to play with lighter tones for a less dramatic mood, so instead of some dark classical bacground I thought that those stacked decorative white mouldings could make a dynamic contrast with the subject. -Pierre
you astound me Pierre ... the craftsmanship, sensitivity, composition and the level of difficulty of the objects you paint that i would stay well away from .... wonderful, as always.
